Dear Metro Atlanta Leaders,
Today’s increasing safety worries, from distracted driving to active shooters; from cyber breaches to human trafficking, have led WSB-TV and the Safe America Foundation to partner in holding a ‘Safety Summit’ on Thursday, October 26 and Friday, October 27.
Vice President and General Manager, Tim McVay, confirmed plans to host the event, engaging high profile Cox media to oversee dialogue on these key issues, and to help address possible legislation (on topics such as distracted driving).
The two-day summit will also address dealing with future disasters, improving cyber security, eliminating human trafficking and addressing community issues such as the opioid crisis and aiding veterans. You’ll also be present as we honor remarkable community leaders such as these North Clayton High School students (above) who developed a school bus ‘safety app!’ with a WorldSafe Award.
The Atlanta Journal/Constitution will also partner in the event that is inviting Georgia civic, business and community leaders along with non-profits focused on addressing safety issues across all spectrums.
Featured speakers include: AT&T Intellectual Properties CEO, Scott Frank, and executives from UPS, Allstate, Primerica, WellStar Atlanta Medical Center, Crawford and Company, Operation HOPE and the American Logistics Aid Network.
Be Recognized as a Community Leader!
More than 100 organizations are already planning to attend including Disaster Recovery Institute International, the Association of Continuity Professionals (ACP) , the Atlanta Fire Rescue Department, the Georgia PTA, the Cobb Public Safety Commission, Clayton County Board of Commissioners, youthSpark and Disabled American Veterans (DAV).
Inaugural sponsor Miller Ingenuity noted that engaging media will make the event a special opportunity to ‘make an impact’ on issues:
“I’m ecstatic to have WSB-TV offer to host our WorldSafe Conference,” noted Miller Ingenuity CEO Steve Blue. “With WSB-TV’s impressive ratings – over 500,000 daily viewers and the #1-rated station in Atlanta (with 60% market share), our discussion will go viral on how to protect Americans. And, with WSB-TV’s help, reach other major markets via Cox-owned network of stations as well as the ABC Network.”
BE THERE FOR “TRAINING CAMP!”
ALL Metro Atlanta community leaders, including business, civic, church and school administrators, are invited to join us on Saturday morning, October 28, for a community ‘Training Camp’ to learn more about dealing with cyber breaches, fight human trafficking and be ‘ready to react’ to any severe incidents at work or in other public venues involving active shooters.
With nearly 100 attendees already expected, there’s a limited number of seats left! So, RSVP one of the remaining 50 Conference seats TODAY. Corporations interested in helping sponsor programs such as the ‘EnDD to Distracted Driving’ are invited to contact SafeAmerica Senior VP Gwen McDaniel at (678) 576-9278.
We look forward to seeing you at WSB-TV on October 26-28.
